Anonymous NY Times Op-ed…ridiculous

“But we believe our first duty is to this country, and the president continues to act in a manner that is detrimental to the health of our republic.

That is why many Trump appointees have vowed to do what we can to preserve our democratic institutions while thwarting Mr. Trump’s more misguided impulses until he is out of office.”

I have lamented many times in this blog, when oh when is someone going to step forward and jeopardize what is a relatively short-term job, for the safety and well being of the country in which they live.  This NY Times Op Ed, is not that.  It’s more of the same, at best, and entirely counterproductive to the secretly subversive position the author supposedly takes to safeguard the country from within the administration, at worst.

What I can surmise about this person:

They are strictly a political appointment.  They are not military or intelligence.  They are a traditional, conservative ideologue.  They are well educated but not particularly bright.  They’d do well on the verbal and numerical portions of an IQ test, but would be average in logic and spatial concepts.

The “dilemma” with this gutless and ill-conceived Op-ed, is what the author highlights as the “dilemma.”

“The dilemma — which he does not fully grasp — is that many of the senior officials in his own administration are working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations.”

The author points out, he should know, because he is one of those working diligently to undermine Trump’s impulsive, fact-free, lunacy.

Buddy, you need to think this through.

Mr. Anonymous, do you believe that this Op-ed shall now cause Donald himself to “snap out of it”?  Do you think some outside force will read this piece and ride in on their white horse to save the day?  Who?  Republican congresspeople only care about their jobs first and their idiot ideals second, much like you.  The voting public?  Everyone that’s sold on the cult isn’t going to change their minds.  We all believe that the Democrats will take the House but fall short in the Senate.

You’re not moving the bar.

So what’s been accomplished with this NY Times Op-ed?  Exactly the opposite of what the author hoped.  No one is coming to save us…that was the author’s job, a job in which he has failed miserably.  Now, what Trump is going to do is try to find the author and anyone like him and fire them all or attempt to exclude as many people as possible from important meetings and decision making.  So, the author will neither be there to protect against Trump’s worst impulses, nor come forward and align facts with accusations.

And it’s not going to be hard to suss out the offending parties, because they are all quoted in Bob Woodward’s recently released book which has already begun the witch hunt.

There’s absolutely no doubt in my mind this Op-ed author figures prominently in Woodward’s book and his Op-ed was prompted by counter-accusations that no such sources exist or that the negative stories in the book are merely the fantasies of disgruntled employees.  Our author is responding directly to those counter-accusations and saying, “Hold on a second, I am here and I’m a senior official!”

Good job idiot.
