Mueller Finally Comes Down From the Mountain: the biblical version

When the people saw that Mueller was gone from them for so long, they came to Fox News and asked for a God they could worship. And Fox News said, ‘bring me your memes, half-truths, and conspiracies, and I shall fashion a belief system for you.”

And it came to pass, that when Mueller came down from the mountain, he had two volumes of testimony in his hands. In this testimony were ten points known to be moments of obstruction, written for the masses whom were lost or disillusioned.

Honestly, I didn’t think it any soothsaying to foresee how this was going to end up. From Dec. 1 2017:

“When I started this blog my presumption was that ultimately many people around Donald Trump would be charged with various crimes and that Trump would still be standing after the fact.  He would remain… tarnished, damaged and left to Congress to deal with or not; leading to a constitutional crisis.”

The only thing incorrect with my original assumptions long ago, is that I thought that Mueller would make a pronouncement that Donald Trump did in fact appear guilty of a particular crime and that he simply lacked the tools to handle the charges himself. Had Mueller been an independent special counsel, it is likely that would have come to pass. But, because Mueller has been a creature of the DOJ, he did not make any such pronouncement, and rightly so.

It’s actually really funny…it’s very funny when you think about it. Not only has Robert Mueller done everything absolutely perfectly, he has done so in a masterful fashion in legality and in a poetically just fashion.

What I presumed after reading Barr’s odd initial four page outline of the Mueller report is correct. The Mueller report was written for Congress.

“No my friends, this report is meant for one of the committees in the House of Representatives. It needs to arrive in it’s whole state; complete in both style and content. Not only is it meant for the House, it is written in the words of Robert Mueller speaking to the House.”

It’s funny because Mueller has left it to us angry and malformed children of narratives to govern ourselves. He has thrown the ten commandments at us and we shall divide ourselves into separate tribes and require untold years before we submit to the truth.

What Firing Sessions Means

I’m not going to point out pertinent facts in this post; I’m not going to work over all of the information that is about to be massaged to death by every news outlet and blogger in the universe.  What I am going to do, is step back and look at this event from the devious viewpoint of Donny and Bill Shine, Donny’s Communications Director and a former top executive of Fox News.

I believe this is an ultimate form of the staging of this reality TV presidency and most likely masterminded by Bill Shine from exactly that position.  This isn’t a rush to end the Mueller probe.  This is not the cliffhanger ending to season 2 of the Trump reality presidency.  Nope.  I believe this is the segue into season 3: The Grind.

What will happen in the House of Representatives when the new assembly is in session is clear.  The Trump administration’s counter-narrative to any House investigation is already established: it’s a waste of time, it’s a waste of money, and the House isn’t spending any time legislating at all.  It’s a witch hunt.

We get it.

I believe this is an attempt to force Mueller’s hand to diffuse his investigation.  Spin off some pieces of his investigation to the states and immediately present some cases for indictment that Mueller would not have otherwise, because they do not follow a clear progression of cases that would have been more beneficial to the overall investigation.

Mueller and Rosenstein were certainly prepared for this eventuality.  We all know that.  Being prepared is not the same as creating the most desirable outcomes.  Being ready for this eventuality is a reaction to foreseen circumstances that elicits the best possible outcome in a negative environment.  It’s the best we can do.

There are multiple benefits for Donny from this play.  The diffusion of the investigation allows Donny to play piecemeal whack-a-mole with each negative headline, one at a time.  Each story that will emerge will have a created counter-narrative based, as usual, around “witch hunt,” “waste of time,” “waste of money,” “nothing is being done to further the needs of America.”

There is no loss by hurrying this ahead of the House investigations.  None.  It will all be seen to be threads of the same fabric.  Each piece worthy of our disdain as an attempt to tarnish Trump’s make-america-great-again.

Any undermining of Rosenstein, or even firing of Rosenstein will, again, not be seen as materially different from firing Sessions.  It’s one and the same.  All attempts to slow down or partially defund the investigation will now be similarly alarming to reasonable people, and no different to Congressional GOP.   Sure it’s just as bad as firing Sessions, but it ain’t the end of the world.  The Senate will not act.

I do not believe the Trump administration will seek to quash the investigation entirely.  The goal here was diffusion.  The ultimate goal is to string the investigations along for 2 years with the constant counter-narratives outlined above.  This is entirely palatable to the cult.

Trump and Shine believe they can win a re-election based around these circumstances and the unwavering support of the cult base.  They believe the House will be strung along for 2 years unable to come to their ultimate goal quickly, due to a slow-paced, reactionary fear of the counter-narratives.  Trump and Shine believe they can capitalize on their counter-narratives and retake the House and hold a majority in the Senate, thereby ensuring 4 years of unobstructed authoritarian rule.

What we do not know, is just how powerful any sure to come indictment from Bob Mueller is going to be.  We do not know whom his current #1 target is, but we may be about to find out and that’s fine with Trump as long as it isn’t him.  And I’m sure it isn’t.  It’s totally fine whoever it is, even if it is Donny’s own son.

Trump’s reality TV presidency has just entered season 3, and Donny and Shine already have the next several seasons roughly sketched out.

Sam “Knucklehead” Nunberg has off-the-hook call in interview with Katie Tur on MSNBC.

Kat-ee  Katee.  katEE.  Katy, do you know it?

katy Katy katy.

What a Dufus.

Katie stated after this interview that when the two had spoken last night around 11pm, Nunberg was still agreeable to the investigation and that at some point since then his opinion had somehow changed.

“I was thinking about this today, KATY, I was preparing it, should I spend 50 hours, going over all my emails with Roger and with Steve Bannon?”

Later on, the amount of time it would take to prepare the emails for the subpoena was  bumped up to 80 hours by Nunberg.  Look, I don’t care what kind of email program anyone uses, with the most basic program one could search by sender, copy all, and paste to a flash drive in about 1 minute.  That aside, the true reason Nunberg is publicly refusing to follow the subpoena, is rather transparently stated by Nunberg several times in the interview.

“I’m not going to cooperate when they want me to come into a grand jury, for them to insinuate that Roger Stone was colluding with Julian Assange.  Roger is my mentor, Roger is like family to me.  I’m not going to do it.”

“What made you change your mind on this?”

“When I was going over everything…today, when I looked at the subpoena…this is ridiculous.”

Knucklehead is literally reading every email, realizes there is stuff in there that incriminates Stone with Assange, and has had a change of heart about the whole thing.  That’s it.  Had he called Stone after reading through some of the emails?  Probably.  I’m gonna follow my spidey-senses on this and conclude Stone didn’t answer, Nunberg got itchy, and called MSNBC to declare to the world that he’s not doing a damn thing!

What knucklehead fails to realize is that Mueller already has all of this information, and the reason he is calling in Nunberg with the emails, is because he wants him to testify to it, in front of the grand jury, so that it is entered as corroborating evidence.  Calling in MSNBC like a drunken fool probably isn’t the best way to go about handling dissatisfaction.  (pretty sure he wasn’t drunk, he was feeling cornered.)

Truly bizarre.  That group Trump surrounded himself with during the campaign is literally a confederacy of dunces and weirdos.

Nunberg will have another change of heart for sure with the next contact from the special counsel’s office.

UPDATE:  Holy crap he’s on with Ari Melber now, whining and crying.  This is like watching a support group trying to talk a jumper down from the ledge.  Getting ridiculous : )

Mueller Investigation Just Got Serious(er)

NBC News is confirming earlier reporting that subpoeana(s) were sent out last month wanting all documentation, emails, text messages, work logs, and related information going back to Nov 1, 2015 from the Trump Campaign and Administration regarding:

“Mueller’s team is asking pointed questions about whether Trump knew about hacked emails from Hillary Clinton’s campaign before the public found out. The subpoena indicates that Mueller may be focused not just on what Trump campaign aides knew and when they knew it, but also on what Trump himself knew.

In addition to the president, the subpoena seeks documents that have anything to do with these current and former Trump associates:”

Steve Bannon, Michael Cohen, Rick Gates, Hope Hicks, Corey Lewandowski, Paul Manafort, Carter Page, Keith Schiller, and Roger Stone.

This is according to one source who is anonymously disclosing the contents of the subpoena.  Makes ya wonder who that is, doesn’t it?

The inclusion of Keith Schiller and Roger Stone makes us wonder just how wide this net is being flung.  WikiLeaks?  PeePee Tape???  : P

I have always been hesitant to assume that Trump himself is going to get caught up in this.  I mean the idiot has been trying real hard to have himself pegged for obstruction, but this…this implies other possible charges and I have to wonder how this is going to play out in the current political and social climate.

Robert Mueller may very well be in the midst of history in the making.  I can’t imagine how this entire investigation must be weighing on him and his team.  If this is what it appears to be at this time, they must be under extreme stress.  They must feel an overwhelming sense of duty to: keep the investigation airtight, have every fucking document for court submission checked and re-checked, and to “get it right” for our future.

We’re depending on these guys in a way our democracy hasn’t depended on the honest intent and focused efforts of so few men…since, hell…I guess since the revolutionary war and resulting founding fathers.

This isn’t the reality TV show Trump thinks it is.  It’s not the daily intrigue we think it is.  It’s our Democracy.

Mueller announces new indictments

Mueller’s grand jury hands down indictments for 15 Russian individuals and entities.  Indictment is here.  All of the organizations are being charged with conspiracy, fraud, and related offenses in regard to their interference in US elections.

News organizations are pointing out that it is highly unlikely that any of these individuals will ever see a day in court.  Such indictments will certainly affect the ability to freely move about in the world for fear of extradition.

What we are overlooking is the absolutely powerful statement these indictments make and their effects on any future narrative about Russian interference in our election.  No longer can any arguments be made that:

  1. There is no proof of a Russian organized attempt to undermine our election.
  2. The Mueller investigation is a witch hunt.
  3. The Mueller investigation is a complete waste of time.

Take note Fox news and all of the talking heads.  It’s real.  It’ always been real.  Mueller is not wasting our time and money.  It’s not a witch hunt.  THE FUCKING INVESTIGATION HAS ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT RUSSIAN INTERFERENCE IN OUR FUCKING ELECTIONS.

I don’t believe Mueller is playing politics in announcing these indictments at this time.  He appears to be methodical and plodding.  These indictments came down at exactly the time they were ready.  That being said, I couldn’t be happier about their existence at this time.  Perhaps Congress will feel the fire at their feet.

Take note Congress.  If anyone is wasting our time and money, it is you.  You’ve done exactly jack-shit to protect our upcoming elections.  You’ve done exactly jack-shit to shed light on what the Russians did in 2016 with or without the help of the current administration.

Sure, probably nothing will ever come of these indictments.  That’s not the point.  The point is Mueller is doing exactly the job he was assigned.  The overview of the entire investigation is about protecting our country and Mueller is making honest and measurable advances to just that end.
