How to break a Government, in 4 easy steps

Step one: Hire unqualified department leaders with a proclivity to be anti-anything progressive and/or have a penchant for hating the very department they run.

Trump’s Initial selection process for cabinet members was strange at best.  If you’ll recall, media were encouraged to stand in the lobby of Trump tower and take pictures of possible appointees as they arrived and left.  It was a carnival atmosphere.

Upstairs, in Trump tower, interviewees were questioned for about an hour with Trump leading and he was usually supported by alt-right ideologue, Steve Bannon and Republican conservative,  Reince Priebus.  Trump had few, if any notes and preferred to talk off the top of his head, go figure(!).  It appears interviewees were questioned on a few key points of position, like: “would you like to appeal Dodd-Frank?”  It’s not hard to imagine that when it came to any questions of fact, Trump was fed these lines by Bannon and Priebus.  So, appointees agreeing with policy would have tended to be anywhere from conservative to far right madmen like Bannon.  What we ended up with, was some conservatives and a handful of off-the-charts, ideologically crazy people.  For the record we also ended up with three billionaires and two mega-millionaires.

Notes about the process by the Associated Press during the time they were happening dated, Dec 8th, 2016:

“When Robert Johnson, the founder of Black Entertainment Television, arrived to a recent meeting with Donald Trump, the president-elect greeted him with a blunt question.  “Did you think I was going to win?” Trump asked.  The entertainment mogul, who has known Trump socially for years, offered an honest and candid response: “No,” he said, drawing a smile from Trump.”

“John Allison, the former chairman of BB&T Corp, who was invited to interview for Treasury secretary, said he was not asked to submit any personal or financial information to Trump’s team ahead of the interviews.”

“Others who described their interview process to The Associated Press said they, too, were not asked by Trump’s team to provide vetting information, raising questions about how the candidates’ background and financial ties are being scrutinized. Trump advisers did not respond to inquiries about the extent of the vetting process.”

“Perdue, who was also not asked to submit any personal information, said it appears Trump is interested in the public’s reaction to his potential picks and the issues that surface in the media after their meetings.”

The current cabinet, is spectacularly unqualified and in several cases, firmly against the core values and concerns of the very department they were selected to lead.  They are consistently climate change deniers.   They are consistently pro-business and anti-regulation.  They dislike facts and are anti-science.  Many of them are anti-something.  Anti  -gay –black –immigration –Islam, etc.

Here are the current Cabinet members after attrition.  It is possible we could have some other changes re: Rex Tillerson, and possible future attrition, from what we might as well go ahead and call airplane-gate for now : )  These are ranked from solid pick>concerning>downright kooky scary.

    1. I honestly think it’s power. Money has been amassed. It certainly isn’t a matter of thoughtful application of intelligence and a desire to do good for mankind, because intelligence would lead one to see quite quickly, that in this administration, this had a high probabilty of being a dumpster fire. also, there is clearly little room to do good for mankind under Trump.

      1. Yeah I did too. I decided to give it a go again after I became so irritated by realizing Trump just repeats soundbites from Fox news all day and those soundbites cobbled together=Trumps policies and worldviews. Wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t so damned obvious.
